How to Import a Playlist Into Spotify

From another music app, use Spotify's own import. In the mobile app, go to Your Library and tap Import your music from other apps (Spotify's steps). From a file or a typed list, use TuneMyMusic's file and text upload.

From another app

  1. In Spotify on your phone, go to Your Library and tap Import your music from other apps.
  2. Choose the service and sign in.
  3. Tap Allow, pick the playlists, and tap Transfer to Spotify.
  4. Sign in to Spotify to finish. The playlists appear in Your Library.

It runs on TuneMyMusic and works on the web too at spotify.com/import-music.

From a file or a list

TuneMyMusic accepts M3U, M3U8, PLS, XSPF, WPL, XML, CSV and TXT files (TuneMyMusic), and also free text or a playlist link.

  1. Go to tunemymusic.com and choose Upload file (or Free text).
  2. Pick your file or paste your list.
  3. Choose Spotify as the destination and sign in.
  4. Start the transfer and check which songs didn't match.

Local files

Songs you own as MP3s can't be imported into Spotify's catalog. You can play them in the Spotify desktop app by turning on Show local files in Settings.
